Athy Ladies rugby has gone from strength to strength since its creation in September 2012, after finishing as Leinster League Div 4 champions the team has been promoted and will be competing in Leinster League Div 3 in 2013/2014…

Athy Ladies team is growing in numbers by the week and, due to demand the club has recently created a junior section which will be coached by members of the senior team and the senior team head coach.

Recruitment is on-going and has proved successful to date, with initiatives such as “Bring a Buddy Training” and promotions in local gyms and schools the team now have an impressive squad of 30+ ladies training and playing on a weekly basis.

Aside from playing rugby the Athy Ladies pride themselves on an active social schedule which is overseen by their Social Committee. The Ladies are making a big impact in the club running their own fundraising projects such as their inaugural Christmas Draw and 2013 Ladies of Athy RFC Calendar.

There is a huge emphasis on making rugby a part of life rather than just a game and this can be seen in the commitment and dedication that is shown to the club both on and off the pitch.

Training is every Tuesday and Friday in Athy RFC at 19:30. All levels of skill and experience welcome from beginner upwards.
