A traditional part of Leinster Rugby matchday, is the half time mini rugby exhibition match between two U12 mini rugby teams who are invited to participate from around the province. The emphasis is on participation and every match provides many entertaining moments for the crowd, while giving young players a memorable experience.
On the day, young players get to meet non-playing squad members before they experience the thrill of running out in front of a big crowd. Afterwards each player receives his own memento of the day. Clubs are invited to send their U12 teams on a rotational basis, and with nearly seventy clubs in Leinster, and 12 matches a season, it takes nearly three years to invite each club once, making it an experience to be savoured.
