Navan RFC Under-15's won the club's first piece of silverware for season 2009/10 by lifting the North-East Under-15 League...
This competitive league saw the Navan lads get wins against Ashbourne, Boyne and Ratoath at home and wins away to Skerries and Balbriggan.
This left Navan with a trip to Dundalk on Sunday needing a win to secure the title. This they did after a hard-fought 21-5 victory against a well drilled Dundalk side. With this success they have also qualified for a Leinster League quarter-final after Christmas.
Half of this side was part of the dominant Under-13 side last year which won four Leinster titles as well as the North-East League. Under the new age grade classification half of that Under-13 side are plying their trade at Under-14's with the rest at Under-15.
Despite this a new side has been forged under the watchful eye of coaches Billy Faulkner and Paul Beggy and this side is showing promising signs of further silverware. For now the lads are basking in the glory of being the "kingpins" of the North-East area.
