Railway’s open day takes place on Sunday 8th September at 2pm in Park Avenue, with the key feature of the day being the launch of the Railway Locomotives…
‘The Locos’ is Railway’s mini rugby programme and caters for boys and girls aged between 6 and 12 years of age.
“This year’s open day will be a great day for all the club.” said President Francis Roche, “We say there’s a place for you in Railway from 6 to 60+ and Sunday will be one of those days. We’d like to welcome all everyone in our community to come down as a family and enjoy what promises to be a fantastic day.”
A feature of the day will be an open training session and introduction to rugby at Railway for boys and girls aged 6 to 12. The sessions will be hosted by Railway’s coaches, with some assistance from Leinster and Ireland male and female players.
Leinster’s Rabo Pro12, Amlin and B&I cups will be there, as will Ireland’s Women’s Grand Slam trophy, so there will be plenty of opportunities for autographs and photos.
In addition, there will be Leinster ‘goodie-packs’ for all children, the special ‘Locomotives’ bouncy castle will be up, and a BBQ will be hosted for all the family.
“The Open Day will be a great opportunity for parents to see what Railway is about, what we are trying to achieve and to talk to the coaches, as well as a great family occasion and enjoyable atmosphere for the boys and girls,” concluded Roche.
