St Thomas’ educate together, Esker, Lucan became the latest school in South Dublin County Council to get on board with tag rugby…

All boys and girls from junior infants right through to 6th class sampled tag rugby and skill games on an action packed sports day on the 10th June.

The talent was scary especially considering many of the children had not so much as help a rugby ball before! Over 450 boys and girls sampled the sport and really enjoyed it. The school will undertake a full tag rugby schedule next year as they were very impressed by the fun had by all students.

The day was organised by Leinster rugby’s CCRO Gareth Murray (NUIM Barnhall) and Community Rugby Officer for South Dublin County Council Tom McKeown.

If you are a parent or teacher who would like to avail of free ‘play rugby’ in your school please contact us or pass on our details to your local school!
