McKinley extended the lead to 10-0 moments before the break with a penalty as Leinster turned the screw.
Ireland, to their credit clawed their way back into the game through efforts from Brian Kingston and sub James McKinney before a 74th effort from Niall Morris provided the space that the hosts required with a superb counter attacking try, which Ian Madigan converted, to seal a determined and deserved win.
