Rathdrum RFC is having an annual recruitment day in recognition of their 40th anniversary this Saturday. Rathdrum’s rugby ground is the place to be with the main focus to attract new members especially those with rugby talent…

The rugby skills are not essential though as Rathdrum PRO & Club Captain Shane Byrne explains:

‘The main focus on Saturday is to get more numbers involved in Rathdrum RFC, we found it hard to field teams in recent years and with so many numbers leaving the country or with players moving up a level or two, it’s been hard to get any momentum going, but hopefully this Saturday we can show everyone how hard the club is working to keep current numbers and hopefully add to our numbers for the coming season’.

Starting at 3pm in Rathdrum there’s an afternoon of mixed tag rugby, a BBQ, a bouncy castle for the kids and plenty of craic and banter for anyone interested in becoming involved in any aspect of the club.

Shane Byrne says it’s not just new players the club are looking for:

‘We’d love to see a few old faces back around the place again. It’s so easy these days with technology for people to stay in touch with our club by keeping up to date with results on our Facebook or Twitter or our website www.rathdrumrugby.com -you can’t beat being involved! We’d love to have new coaches, players, social members, juveniles, adults, anyone with any interest is very welcome on Saturday’ says Shane.

So if you have a few hours to kill this Saturday come down to Rathdrum from 3pm onwards and play some tag rugby, bring the kids along and get involved in bringing Rathdrum RFC forward.
