A 16-point haul from Felipe Contepomi helped Leinster seal a fine 31-17 victory over the Scarlets at Parc y Scarlets in Saturday evening’s Magners League clash…Rocky Elsom Post Match Reaction…

Speaking after the game Magners Man of the Match Rocky Elsom said: “We’re very happy with the win. It was a crucial game for us coming, as it did, in the middle of the Six Nations. They came right at us and we defended well and held up under some real pressure from them.

“As a group we’re determined to retain the Magners League title and this is a very competitive race.”

The visitors led 23-10 at the break and withstood a determined home fight-back in the second-half.

Isa Nacewa, Cameron Jowitt and skipper Shane Jennings scored Leinster tries and Felipe Contepomi kicked 16 points. Paul O’Donohoe put in an impressive shift on his first Senior start, while replacement Jonathan Sexton and Shane Horgan linked superbly for Jennings’ breakaway try in the closing minutes.
