The draws for the 2021/22 early season competitions, the Bank of Ireland Leinster League Cup and the Bank of Ireland Metropolitan Cup have been completed.

Branch President John Walsh and honorary secretary Stuart Bayley conducted the draws in between the Junior AGM and the Senior AGM, held virtually on Thursday evening.

There are 16 teams competing in the two competitions with the first round ties in both cups being played on Saturday, 21 August.

The 16 teams in the Leinster League Cup are drawn from Divisions 1A and 1B of the Leinster League while the participants in the Metropolitan Cup are the Second XV teams of the All-Ireland League clubs that play in Divisions 1, 2 and 3 of the Metro League.

Both cups will be played on a knockout basis and will be run over successive weekends.

All cup ties will be decided on the day and tie breakers will be issued by the Competitions Committee over the coming days.

These tie breakers will be in line with existing tie breakers which currently form part of the Competitions Regulations and are in place for lower level cup competitions.
