Read these five quotes from Jamie Heaslip ahead of the Champions Cup match away to Harlequins.
On form…
“We’ve gotten a lot of good results, fourth in the league, we’re in a good position in our group. There’s a lot of confidence in the squad. We’re turning our head to Europe. We’ve got a massive two weeks.”
On back-to-back games in Europe…
“It’s always quite difficult going back-to-back against a club. Sometimes you learn a lot about a team in week one I suppose, and there’s no tricks. The amount of analysis that goes in to week one, and then you actually play against them and you pick up a lot of info as well. That could be something to it that makes (the back-to-back games) a lot more interesting.”
On playing in the Stoop…
“It’s going to be a massive challenge; it’s not an easy place to go to, it’s not an easy place to win. I was talking to Jimmy Gopperth, he played there quite a bit, I was talking to Rossy (Mike Ross) about it. They’re quite a passionate team at home.”
On the spine of the Harlequins team…
“They’re a very well-drilled team, they know what they’re doing right down the spine of the team in terms of (Nick) Easter, (Chris) Robshaw, Danny (Care) and Nick Evans. There’s a really good core of the team there and they know what they’re at and run the team very well and everyone kind of feeds off that.”
On the transition back from Ireland duty…
“I suppose I’m used to it now at this stage but you do have to very quickly snap out. The internationals had time off at the start of the week, we weren’t on the field at the tail end of it, we were just in the gym and stuff. I always find it quite hard to get up to speed looking at video or reading, I have to get out there and actually do it. I wasn’t exactly player of the training session on Monday, but neither were a couple of the boys from international camp. But we got up to speed very quickly and got on the Leinster page and got the Ireland calls out of our head. We’re in a good place now.”
