The Bank of Ireland Leinster Rugby Camps is geared for boys and girls aged 6-12 years will be held in 22 venues across the province in July and August.

Last year saw the biggest number of kids ever attend our Summer Camps, with over 2,000 boys and girls enjoy a summer of rugby and fun across the province. In fact the sold out sign went up on some venues at the start of July something that was unprecedented since the camps began.

This year sees an increase in venues and coaching staff to accommodate the high demand for places so hopefully this will help in giving more kids the opportunity to attend. Following on also from the success of last year, the content for the week will be structured in a way that will see each day provide a theme and progress through the different aspects of rugby skills and the game throughout the week.

Billy Phelan, the Camp Co-ordinator, said “Building on last year’s success is key to providing all the camp goers with an opportunity to learn new skills or hone their existing ones before the new season kicks off. While keeping the fun and enjoyment element very much alive throughout we aim to deliver excellent coaching from our team of coaches within Leinster Rugby. Last summer I introduced a theme to each day which saw progressions for the players each day and help focus on specific key factors within the game. This also allowed new players to rugby an opportunity to learn these skills from beginning to end.
