As the season comes towards its end, Bective Rangers FC has much with which to be pleased. After a gap of 15 years the Club is delighted to have won their section of the Metro J1 League with a most convincing performance…

In achieving their victory, this J1 team was unbeaten over 16 games, a most remarkable record, and finished top of the table, ahead of teams of the calibre and status of Terenure, UCD, Greystones, DLSP and others.

For the first time in many years in Bective can celebrate a double success at different levels, with the J2s winning their Metro J2 League Section – so undoubtedly junior rugby is doing very well in the Club.

The Vets team, for the over 35’s, had a most enjoyable season which ended with success in the final of their league, when they defeated St. Mary’s 13 – 7 on Wednesday, 31st March. Apart from the satisfaction of the win this League also raised funds towards Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children with a voluntary collection at each match.

Players of all ages are maintaining involvement in the Club and with players from last season’s very successful Under-20s playing at all levels in Bective the future is very promising.

The 1st XV plan to continue this run of achievements when they play their final Division 2 AIL game against Greystones on Saturday 19th April, when they will be challenging for a ‘Top 4’ Play Off position – which would also be a first for Bective.
