Ardee Rugby Football Club is seeking applications for the position of head coach/player coach for the 2016/2017 season.
With our club grounds at Townspark, Ardee, we currently field two adult men’s sides. The first team play in Leinster League Division 2C, finishing 2nd in the 2015/2016 season. Also in the most recent season the Club played in the Jenkinson (North East J2) Final. The club also contested two Anderson Cup Semi-Finals (Leinster J3) & a Dunne Cup (Leinster J4) in the past two seasons. They also won their area league (Mc Gee Cup J3) in the 2014/2015 season. The 2nd XV reached the league play-off in 2015/2016 of the Mc Gee Cup and will be participating in this league in 2016/2017.
Ardee RFC is a family oriented club with a growing youths and mini sections. The player catchment area is predominantly mid-Louth with players also coming from the south Monaghan and east Meath areas. We have excellent playing and training facilities with a full floodlit pitch, a fully equipped gym and a recently developed clubhouse.

- Ability to lead and realise the clubs stated objectives
- Credible rugby knowledge, understanding and expertise gained from playing, coaching or through player management. Ability to coach and understand the game to a high level – strategically, tactically and technically.
- Ability to interface effectively with people at all levels. Competence to manage & motivate, develop relationships, and if required manage conflict.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Management of Ardee’s senior team rugby affairs, including the recruitment, development and performance management of players.
- Development and leadership of playing styles and systems.
- Planning and preparing for training sessions and activities.
- Team and individual based goal setting.
- Coaching of specific team(s), unit and individual components; delegation of other components.
- Attendance at all match, trainings, and team meetings.
- Setting the right example for players on and off the field.
Qualifications Required
- Have had previous management/coaching/ and/or playing experience in senior rugby sides.
- Have vision, drive, ambition and determination.
- Have excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate at all levels.
- Be hardworking, honest, trustworthy and able to buy into and positively shape the culture and ethos at the club.
The successful candidate will be a pivotal member of the Club’s management team and will be required to play a vital role in the delivery of short, medium and longer term objectives of Ardee RFC.
