Arklow Rugby Club are seeking a head coach for their senior men’s team for the 2018/19 season.
Arklow RFC has a long, established history in junior rugby having won two Bank of Ireland Provincial Towns Cups and a number of area leagues over the years.
The club recently finished the 2017/18 season mid-table in Bank of Ireland Leinster League Division 2B.
The club has a squad of 25-30 players and currently fields one team but hope to grow that to two teams in the coming 2018/19 season.
Arklow RFC are interested in ambitious coaches, who will achieve with the club and who the club can work with to further develop their coaching career. Experience is important – but attitude, energy and commitment is as important.

- Ability to lead and realise the club’s stated objectives
- Credible rugby knowledge, understanding and expertise gained from playing, coaching or through player management.
- Ability to coach and understand the game to a high level – strategically, tactically and technically.
- Ability to interact effectively with people at all levels. Competence to manage, motivate, and develop relationships.
Roles & responsibilities
- Development and leadership of playing styles and systems.
- Planning and preparing for training sessions and activities.
- Team and individual-based goal setting.
- Coaching of specific team, unit and individual components; delegation of other components.
- Attendance at all match, training sessions, and team meetings.
- Chair of the selection committee.
- Setting the right example for players on and off the field.
