On Friday, 8th March, at 7.30 pm, the Ireland Woman’s team kick of the next leg of their quest for the Grand Slam when they take on the mighty French side, who are one of the elite of the woman’s game…

Ireland have beaten them before here at Ashbourne in 2009, though the French reversed this result in 2011. Last season Ireland went down by a point in a close game in France so it is all to play for and this Irish team is determined.

Following on from their fantastic Triple Crown victory in Scotland last weekend, a large crowd is expected at Ashbourne for their last home game of the season.

The club is planning for this big night and tickets are only available at the gate. There will be pre-purchasing of tickets with prices of €;10 for Adults and €;5 for Childern, students and OAP’s.

They will be available in following outlets:

  • JR’s Newagents in Main Street, Ashbourne from Saturday.
  • Available at the Ashbourne Leinster League Game on Sunday at the Milltown House Grounds in Ashbourne from 2pm onwards.
  • Tickets will also be available from Monday onwards in Allrooms, 31, Upper Liffey Street, Dublin 1 (beside the side entrance to M&S at the Jervis Street Centre).
  • Prices for entry payable at the gate are as follows – Adults €;10 ; Car of 4 people €;20; Students, Kids and OAP’s €;5.

There is plenty of car parking (700  spaces) but there is a limit. The club would encourage people attending to car pool or if coming from the city there is 103 bus that leaves Beresford Place every 20 minutes with a journey time of 30 minutes. There is will be a bus running from Ashbourne to the club every 15 minutes from 6.30pm onwards, and this is only a 5 minute journey. There are also taxis available in the main street (Kelly’s Pub).

From the Airport there is also a regular bus service, the 109 which will drop you in the town center.

If you are bringing a bus to the game, we would appreciate a call in advance so arrangements can be made. Please call Rod at 086 2855946
