Balbriggan RFC are recruiting two new coaches, one of whom will be the head coach to lead the development of the men’s first XV. The candidates will, if possible, be player-coaches for the team.
One of the successful candidates will be appointed head coach and will be an integral member of the club’s Rugby Management team. That candidate will be required to play a significant role in the delivery of short, medium and long-term rugby goals for the men’s first XV.
Key Responsibilities
- To design and deliver a programme that ensures that both the men’s first XV can execute a coherent and appropriate gameplan through the season that optimises the potential of the squad
- Attend and supervise all training sessions and games for the senior men. Select the men’s first XV
- Foster and maintain a positive team culture within the squad
- Assist in building a connection between the U-18.5 boys and the Senior squad to improve retention of underage players.
Qualifications
The successful candidates will have an accredited coaching qualification or, if not, will be in the process of obtaining accredited coaching qualification having played at a senior level.
Previous coaching experience is preferable but if coming new/relatively new into coaching will have played for a club at a senior level.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
