The demonstration of the new online tool, which focuses on video training for coaches, was followed by practical drills on ball handling and special awareness for the players. This training was given by Gerry Mc Cleery from Leinster Rugby and Frank Duffy Balbriggan RFC CCRO.
The coaches were taken through the online aspect of the training on the Leinster website which demonstrated the drills, and objects of the drills. The coaches then took to the pitch, where a very enthusiastic group of young players were put through their paces…
The reaction of the players was very positive, as they were learning through the drill and game, they were questioned by the coaches as to where errors and gains had been made, to which they all made contributions to both aspects.
The coaches also felt, it was a step to the next level in training. Eamon Darcy director of Rugby at Balbriggan said “This is going to be asset to the club going forward, both coaches and players will benefit greatly”.
