The Round 1 draws for the Bank of Ireland Leinster Schools Senior Cup, Vinnie Murray Cup, Junior Cup and Fr Godfrey Cup took place at Bank of Ireland, Grand Canal Square, on Monday evening.
The draw was broadcast live on the Bank of Ireland Facebook page, with Stuart Lancaster, Dan Leavy and Dave Kearney in attendance to assist with proceedings.
Bank of Ireland Senior Cup holders, Belvedere College, will begin their title defence against Gonzaga College in Round 1.
Last season’s Bank of Ireland Vinnie Murray Cup winners, CBC Monkstown, will face Wilson’s Hospital in their opening game, while Newpark Comprehensive received a bye to Round 2.
The 2017 Bank of Ireland Junior Cup Final went to a replay when the eventual winners, St Michael’s College, and Blackrock College couldn’t be separated at the first time of asking. They will face off in Round 1 of this season’s competition.
In the Bank of Ireland Fr Godfrey Cup Skerries Community College have been handed a bye into Round 2 after they were the first team drawn.
