The draw for the semi-finals of the 2018 Bank of Ireland Leinster Schools Senior Cup took place at Donnybrook Stadium after the last of the quarter-final matches between St Michael’s College and Clongowes Wood College.
St Michael’s came out on top 22-13 on Wednesday afternoon with tries from Ryan Baird, Jay Barron and Dan O’Donovan.
They will face holders Belvedere College who defeated Newbridge College 23-7 in their quarter-final match.
They will face each other at Donnybrook Stadium on Monday, 5th March at 3pm.
The second semi-final will be between St Mary’s College and Blackrock College.
Mary’s defeated Cistercian College, Roscrea, in a thrilling match at Donnybrook. Mary’s were in front 22-8, but Roscrea came back to level the game. Mary’s were unfazed, however, and took back the lead and held on to win 32-29.
Blackrock had to come from 14-0 behind to defeat St Gerard’s in their quarter-final match. A late drop goal was chipped over by James Tarrant to complete the comeback and a 19-17 victory.
Both semi-final matches will be broadcast live on eir Sport.
