At the Leinster Rugby Awards Ball, Isaac Boss spoke to our MC, Darragh Maloney, about his time at Leinster and his favourite moments from the last six seasons.

Before Bossy took to the stage, Isa Nacewa and Sean O’Brien spoke about his contribution to the province and the positive energy he brings to the environment.

“From day one that Bossy got here, he probably brings more positive energy to our whole environment than any other player here,” Isa said on the night. “He’s bouncing off the walls at seven in the morning and that continues on the whole day. Everyone’s fed off that through the years that he’s been here.”

Bossy’s charity work outside of rugby was also highlighted, with Isa saying: “People wouldn’t know, but the amount of time he dedicates to charities outside rugby. He’s absolutely selfless and would probably do more charity work than any other player in Leinster. I was so happy when he got that award [the IRUPA Medal for Excellence, for combining on-field effort with off-field commitment to the game] because it’s one that means a lot to him.”

When the man himself spoke, he discussed the highlights from his time with Leinster and his journey to the province.

“Growing up I wouldn’t even have known what Leinster was or dreamt of playing for Leinster,” Bossy said.

“I’ve come on a different journey to here, I guess. Being a part of Leinster has probably enabled me to achieve all of my goals that I’ve had in rugby. I’m grateful for all the opportunities it’s given me. I loved every minute of it. It’s always tough when you leave it behind.”
