Leinster legend and Fighting Blindness supporter Shane Byrne is backing the charity’s 4th annual Sporting Luncheon, which takes place in the surrounds of The Westin Hotel, Dublin on Friday 3rd February…

Undoubtedly one of the most hotly tipped and entertaining dates of the social calendar, the lunch takes place ahead of Ireland’s Six Nation’s opening game against Wales on Sunday, 5th February. Among the exclusive prizes up for auction at the lunch, Shane Byrne has offered to donate his time to one lucky bidder by way of a personal training session.

Funds raised through this event are crucial to the success of the charity’s groundbreaking research projects for the cure and treatment of blindness in Ireland, where more than 100,000 people are affected by conditions such as Age Related Macular Degeneration (AMD), Diabetic Retinopathy and Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP).
