Robbie Doyle from Cill Dara RFC and Susan Heeney from Skerries RFC are both the recipients of Leinster Rugby’s PRO of the month for November and December respectively…

Both Robbie and Susan go the extra mile in promoting their clubs throughout the province at every possible opportunity.

Cill Dara’s Robbie was involved in the promotion of the Leinster Rugby Training session held over the summer which saw record breaking crowds line up to meet their hero’s in Beechpark. Robbie has developed a great relationship with local papers such as the Leinster Leader and Kildare Nationalist as well as promoting the club via KFM.

Robbie was also responsible for bringing numerous youth’s players to the Leinster V Northampton game in the Aviva and regularly promotes One Province within his club. One Province is a ticketing initiative which allows 10 youths/mini’s players attend a Leinster home game in the Aviva or RDS for €;50 and one adult goes free . Cill Dara’s PRO, Robbie has also led the promotion for various events and trips such as Halloween night, ‘the gathering’, School of Excellence on Tour and U13’s trip to Paris. Robbie has been heavily involved in the development of the new club website as well as the weekly promotion of his clubs fixtures and post-match articles.

Skerries RFC’s PRO is the newly engaged Susan Heeney who’s consistent approach to promotion and marketing the club has really put Skerries on the map as ‘the place to be’ for members of all ages. Susan’s achievements include the successful race night, fashion show and this month’s weight loss challenge in the club. The Skerries PRO is notorious for being up early in the clubs at weekends looking for the latest news from each section within the club which can be found on the Skerries RFC site.

Susan promotes her club through the various Leinster Rugby channels and her enthusiasm for the game has really placed a new focus on the club as she regularly has articles on the Leinster twitter account which has over 79,000 followers, the Leinster Rugby website which receives 350,000 views per month and in the Herald which receives 330,000 readers on a Friday when Leinster Rugby have their supplement.

In order to say a small ‘thank you’ to both Robbie and Susan for all of their hard work, we invited Barry up to the Leinster V Ospreys game where Leinster players Darragh Fanning and Michael Bent posed for a photo pitch side.
Congratulations to De La Salle’s Dave Lillis on the January PRO of the Month who will be brought to the Leinster V Dragons game on the 14th of February.

If you want to increase your chance of winning next month’s PRO, all you have to do is start sending us in articles about various aspects of your club. Has your club won their last match? Did you recently start an underage girls’ team? Do you have a fundraiser coming up? Start sending in articles to stories@leinsterrugby.ie.

Leinster Rugby is running PRO seminars around the province having already completed two seminars in UCD and Skerries RFC. If you would like to attend the Portarlington 3rd February or Gorey 10th February seminar, book your place with elma.beirne@leinsterrugby.ie.
