Coolmine Rugby Club held their annual President’s Dinner recently in their clubhouse, Ashbrook…

This event hosted by outgoing president Eamonn Connelly is held every year to celebrate the end of the season and also to honour the work done by everyone during the year in support of the club.

After being wined and dined it was time for some presentations and speeches. Second XV captain Brian Smyth, who is stepping down from the role, was honoured by his team mates for all the hard work he has done during the years.

A bouquet of flowers was presented to both Pat-Ann Wood and Vera Caffery for all the time put in during the season tirelessly working away behind the scenes keeping things running smoothly in the clubhouse. Next a few words from special guest Trevor Merrey who complimented the club on their recent success and on the fine facilities they have managed to provide for their members.

Last word went to Eamonn Connelly who thanked everyone for their support during his term. With all the formalities done it was time to retire to the bar and celebrate into the late hours.
