Coolmine RFC held their second annual Garden Fete last Sunday in Ashbrook…
This event has become an important fundraiser in the clubs calendar and is also a great family fun day out, wrapping up the season for everyone.
The weather was kind for the second year in a row and large numbers turned out hoping to get a bargain at one of the various stalls.
All the usual attractions were there including Bric-a-Brac, Books, Cakes, Trash & Treasure, Bouncy Castles, Wet Sponge Throw, Luck Dips, Bottle Tombola, Plate Smash, Goat Pat Competition, Splat the rat etc. Music was supplied on the day thanks to The Blanchardstown Brass Band.
The ‘Petting Farm’ was a big hit with the kids who got the opportunity to handle a wide variety of animals including goats, calves, chicks, rabbits and guinea pigs. Traditional cream teas were very popular with the adults and as usual there was a large queue for the BBQ. The day finished up with an end of season award ceremony for the mini’s section.
Well done to Pat-Ann Wood and the rest of the committee who put in many months of preparation organising a great day. Also thanks to all our sponsors A1 Waste, Carpenter Pub, Crowne Plaza Hotel Group, Crystal Clear Belfast, Irish Ferries, Philip Maher Electrical, Robin Cunningham, and Rowex Healthcare.
