Coolmine RFC are seeking to appoint a Head Coach for their U-20 programme in the forthcoming 2022/23 season.

Coolmine RFC is a community club based in Castleknock, Dublin 15. Their senior men’s team plays Leinster League Division 2A.

The club fields four adult male teams and has a strong underage system with teams at all age groups from U-7 to U-18.5. They are also developing a girls rugby platform with the aim of fielding a women’s rugby team in the future.

The club has two excellent quality grass pitches along with an all-weather training pitch which allows training to take place throughout the entire season.

This year, Coolmine are in the process of constructing a brand-new state of the art gym to assist all players in improving strength and conditioning levels. The U-20 programme is a critical and vital element in their player development pathway.

Coolmine RFC are fully committed to giving this role the full support that is required, and the successful applicant will be supported by the club’s Rugby Committee.

Key responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the direction and implementation of the U-20 programme
  • Plan and lead all training sessions and attend all league and cup matches including any friendlies
  • Work with senior coaches to develop individual skills, technical and tactical awareness, and higher levels of game awareness
  • Ensure the players have an inclusive, challenging but enjoyable rugby experience
  • Create a fun environment
  • Assist the Rugby Committee with the recruitment of players

  • Strong technical and tactical understanding of rugby
  • Good communication and player management skills
  • Strong organisational skills

Key requirements

  • Stage 3 IRFU Coaching Award
  • Previous coaching experience
