This coming July sees the first ever Greystones Rugby 7s Festival, bringing you a full day of fast, explosive & powerful sevens rugby on the superb grounds of Greystones RFC…

As part of The Gathering Ireland, we are welcoming teams from not only Leinster, but nationwide and overseas to sign up for this inaugural tournament to play against some of our finest Irish 7s players, and for spectators to enjoy this fast, free flowing sporting event.

Former Ireland and Leinster rugby legend, Reggie Corrigan, is heading Greystones Rugby 7s Festival, and David Keane, the world’s most capped sevens referee, will be refereeing matches on July 6th.

Greystones 7s promises to give Leinster a rugby sevens festival to be proud of, and aims to contribute strongly to Leinster & Irish Club rugby. Rugby Sevens will be making its Olympic debut in the summer Olympics 2016, this will help globalisation of the game and the number of countries that will play it.

With the accelerating rise in popularity of sevens rugby, a new population of players will be introduced to this competitive rugby environment. Greystones 7s will be an exciting tournament allowing players to display their individual talent with greater space and more ball handling opportunities. We are looking to showcase intelligent & adaptable sevens players, and encouraging these teams to lock down their registration with us immediately, as places are limited and filling up fast.

Our unique approach to this event is a military-run tournament of sevens teams, men & women, so thoroughly organised the teams will be signing up for 2014 from the moment they set foot on our grounds on July 6th.

While it will be regimented in that sense, players and spectators will be surrounded by a fun, boutique festival atmosphere; excellent food stalls, a family entertainment area, physio and yoga tents, and insanely funky music you can get up and shake your tush in the RedBull party wigwam, from our confirmed act, Mr Whippy Soundsystem. Mr Whippy, an incredibly talented DJ travelling from Mayo in his 1972 ice-cream van, to whip up his chilled out collection of vinyl record tunes at our event.

Daytime entry to the public is FOC
