Ulster are next up in the Guinness PRO14 for Leinster Rugby, and hooker Seán Cronin is expecting another nail-biting Interprovincial clash.
There is no time for Leinster to dwell on defeat to Munster in the final game of 2018 as they welcome another provincial rival to the RDS Arena on Saturday (KO 5.15pm).
“When you lose, it’s never a good result so we’re pretty disappointed with that. Had a good review today, picked apart some of the things that we needed to get better at going into another big Interpro this weekend,” said Cronin.
“If you can look back to the Connacht and Munster games – they’re all hotly contested games. There’s a bit of edge, a bit of spice there, it’s going to be hotly contested again at the weekend.”
Both teams will be looking for a win heading into crunch European ties the week after, an element that adds extra excitement to this fixture.
“They want a good game and that’s what the Interpros are, going up against each other and testing yourself against the best in Ireland. That’s what we’re looking forward to.
“Having that good feeling in the squad, if you can get a good performance, a good win, will raise spirits around the place leading into those weeks.”
