Week 5 of the Herald Summer Camps is now underway with the venues for this week in Donnybrook and Cill Dara RFC…
Over 200 children aged between 6-12 have taken to the fields for four hours a day to practice their skills and have fun with a week of rugby.
After finishing early morning training today, some of the players from the team decided to pop in to both venues to the surprise of the young children. The youngsters at Donnybrook were lucky to have Landsdowne clubman Gordon D’Arcy and Leinster captain Leo Cullen from Blackrock pop in for some photos, autographs and even to enjoy a few fun games.
To add to the enjoyment, they even received a visit from the three trophies which Leinster won over the past year, namely the Amlin, PRO12 and The B&I Cup trophies.
In Cill Dara RFC, both Kevin McLaughlin and Devin Toner answered every the question that the children put to them and showed off some of their skills while taking time with to join in with some of the activities put on by the camps excellent coaches. The players will return to the club on the morning of Friday 9th of August for an open Leinster training session taking place on the club grounds.
Next week the camps move onto Gorey RFC and Tullamore RFC where the camps run for five days, despite the bank holiday Monday. With only three weeks and seven camps left the time to sign up is fast running out
