De La Salle Palmerston FC recently held its 6th Annual Under-12 festival at Kirwan Park…
Under the guidance of Graham Cooke, and his trusted committee including amongst many: Alan Hayden, Graham Smyth, Peter McKeown and Katherina Purcell, the 16 acre site was exclusively reserved for use by over 420 children, covering 28 squads from 11 clubs who participated.
The guests of honour at the event were London Irish, who brought over 60 boys to play in the event.
A perfectly dry day added to the enjoyment of the festival, with BBQ’s and bouncy castles being provided for everyone to enjoy, along with the official Leinster Canterbury Kicking Castle, which was manned by Stephen Gore (Leinster Rugby) for the second time in recent weeks.
Stephen was at hand to help with any support we required from the Leinster Branch, along with providing the obligatory Leinster Goodies, which always go down very well with the children!
Greystones, London Irish and Old belvedere took the silverware home from Grade A, B and C events respectively. The winners were selected based on their attitude on the pitch, from the sidelines and overall sportsmanship.
