What was merely a dream during the summer months has now become a reality and in doing so has made club history…

Edenderry’s First Ladies senior team played their first competitive matches in a Blitz held in Barnhall RFC.

Training has proven a success with numbers starting at 32 and now at 45 per session, there is a big drive on this season in the club to support ladies rugby with some of the first team players helping out in coaching sessions, and the club appointing four coaches to assist with the training.

Training is on Wednesday and Friday nights at 7.30pm and the team is composed mainly of absolute beginners so all are welcome. Coaches Patsy Gorman, Wayne Clancy, Jason Hand and Darren Hanlon, want to thank the ladies for the commitment to date and look forward to the season ahead.

Also special thanks from ERFC to Karen Duffy and Gillian Hoey for all their hard work over the summer months in bringing this together.
