Kick off information for the first four rounds of the European Champions Cup competition have been released and the Official Leinster Supporters Club (OLSC) has prepared travel information for those supporters looking to head on the road.
Bath Rugby v Leinster – KO Saturday 21 November at 3.15pm
Familiar to some supporters, the nearest airport is Bristol (served by both Aer Lingus and Ryanair). Located 32kms from Bath, supporters can either take a train from Bristol Temple Meads or use a rental car.
Despite the early kick off there are currently no evening flights from Bristol that would facilitate a same day trip for supporters. The OLSC is now in discussion with both Aer Lingus and Ryanair to see if any evening and/or additional flights can be added. The usual overnight flight options to exist.
Other airports supporters could use include Cardiff (114kms from Bath), London Heathrow (164kms) or Birmingham (170kms).
Bath hotels are already heavily booked for the weekend of the game, the likes of Hilton, Travelodge, Premier Inn and Ibis all have hotels in the area. An option maybe to stay in nearby Bristol city centre that is located
22kms away (regular trains run between Bath and Bristol).
RC Toulon v Leinster – Sunday 13 December, KO: 4.15pm (local time)
**Information updated as at 4.30pm, Thursday 20 August**
This fixture is now confirmed as being played in Touon. At the time of writing there was no scheduled direct flights to Toulon. We are speaking with both airlines to see what (if anything) can be done in this respect.
The nearest airport to to fly into as of today is Nice, located 151kms from Toulon. Aer Lingus and Ryanair both fly from Dublin and both have added Sunday evening flights home (Ryanair also have a Monday flight). From the airport take a ’99’ bus to Nice Ville and then take the train to Toulon (2 hours).
The Sunday evening return flights may be difficult for supporters to make given the 4.15pm kick off, we are accessing what options there are regarding transfers given it is a Sunday in France.
The IBIS Budget hotel in central Toulon is beside the ground and in the city centre, rooms are from EUR 54 per night.
Joe Walsh Tours, Official travel partner of Leinster Rugby will be operating charter flights for all of our European away fixtures, pricing and booking details can be found here
OLSC special airport bus transfers
At the time of writing the club is still accessing what (if any) bus services may be possible, a further update will be issued on this website as well as the Club’s social media in due course.
OLSC discussions with Aer Lingus and Ryanair
The OLSC has once again contacted these two airlines to see if any additional flights can be added to better facilitate supporters, updates in this regard will be posted on this website as well as our facebook and
twitter pages. Unfortunately Cityjet who sponsor the team do not serve these routes.
The OLSC in association with Bank of Ireland will once again produce an away guide for all three of our pool fixtures. Packed with information around the venues and town/cities the blue army will be visiting and
details of the important supporters HQ, these will be available for free download from this website the Tuesday evening before each away game.
Season ticket holders will be contacted in due course by the Leinster Rugby ticket office with information of our away allocation. We know there is temptation to buy direct from the opposition team however to ensure that the blue is together in the stadium we would request supporters buy from our official away allocation wherever possible.
