Leinster Rugby are delighted to announce that Graham Carroll (St. Brigid’s Mini Rugby) and Sharon Ward (Tullow RFC) have been named the Evening Herald volunteers of the month for September…

Graham Carroll from St. Brigid’s Mini Rugby Club has been a member of the club for nearly seven years.

Stephen Gore, Leinster Rugby CRO Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown, said: “Graham’s dedication to St. Brigid’s has been evident since becoming a member from holding positions such as mini coordinator, treasurer, coach and managing the daily maintenance of the club.

“He is always obliging and is extremely respected by all members due to the interest and time he has put in to develop the club.”

As his son is now playing Under-13’s rugby he has moved to a different club, Graham will now be leaving St. Brigid’s which will leave a huge void in the administration of the club and the nomination for this award would be a small way in honouring his time with St. Brigid’s.

Meanwhile, our second winner is Sharon Ward from Tullow RFC who has been nominated by Leinster Rugby CCRO Vinnie Mahon.

Vinnie Mahon had the following to say about Sharon; “Our club would not function without Sharon. She is the lynchpin that holds everything together. Not afraid to muck in from Under-8 to Senior levels; from the kitchen to first-aid and from marketing to maintaining sanity!”

Congratulations to both winners from the Evening Herald Volunteer of the Month Award for September. The winners will receive a voucher for the Leinster Rugby Store and tickets to an upcoming Leinster match.
