The busier the club, the busier the PRO. And in the case of Balbriggan RFC’s outstanding PRO Caroline McFadden this has meant that life revolves around the club for herself and her family.
Her commitment to promoting every aspect of the club’s activities and every team’s endeavours have this month led to her being honoured by Leinster Rugby as she is names PRO of the Month for September.
Caroline took over the role of PRO for Balbriggan RFC three years ago as she followed in the footsteps of her husband David who has served in many roles across the club, area and branch and before too long she was starting to have an incredible impact on the club’s profile.
Caroline works tirelessly to produce high quality photographs of all teams and these images have significantly increased the popularity of the club’s social media and website.
The entire McFadden family is involved in the club with Jimmy, Conor and Alex all playing minis rugby while their sister Kate participates in the club’s Bank of Ireland Leinster Rugby Camp every year and she has also been a huge help to Caroline in setting up the club’s Instagram page recently.
And all four kids find their weekend’s revolving around the club’s fixture list as they travel to senior men’s and women’s games with Caroline and David to cheer on the teams while Mum captures the action.
Caroline’s work hasn’t ended there as she recently published a book to commemorate Balbriggan RFC’s 90th Birthday. From Rope Walk to Bow Hill (A history of Rugby in Balbriggan) is available from the club and can be ordered by sending an e mail to brfc90years@gmail.com.
Next on the agenda for Caroline is a trip to Sitges RFC in Catalunya, Spain with Balbriggan RFC Women’s team. Caroline will have her camera with her and so keep an eye out for a report and photos from the trip on leinsterrugby.ie in the near future!
A big day on the Leinster Rugby Calendar will also be a big day for the McFadden household and Balbriggan RFC as the club’s u12 team will line out at half time during the Leinster v Munster game in the Aviva Stadium. The team is coached by David and Jimmy is one of the stars if the team so we will all be looking on with interest on the day.
Today though is very much a day off for Caroline who is our guest of honour. Like every monthly winner she has received VIP tickets for the game as well as vouchers from our generous sponsors Mao and Life Style Sports.
Caroline’s only photography duties today will be to pose for a few on pitch pics and some selfies with players! Congratulations to you Caroline from all of us at Leinster Rugby. Keep up the great work!
