The first ever round of Leinster Rugby FanScore saw an interesting trend in predictions which we hope will continue over the course of the season – every single player predicted a Leinster win.
And your faith was rewarded as Leo Cullen’s men triumphed, coming out on top 28-15 against Dragons at the RDS Arena. That’s a 100% record so far with match predictions. Give yourselves a pat on the back.
Check out some more stats on the first round of FanScore below, plus see who topped the leaderboard this week.

Full-time score
The percentage of players that predicted a Leinster win? 100%
The percentage of players that correctly predicted the full time score? 0%
Better luck next week!
Total tries
If you correctly predicted the number of tries that would be scored in the Dragons match (six), well done! Only 15.5% of supporters guessed there would be six tries in total in the game.
First try scorer
Nobody went for Peter Dooley as first try scorer. For shame!
The Offaly man scored the first of the match and the first senior Leinster try of his career.
In a game of firsts, Ross Molony also scored his first senior try for Leinster, Jeremy Loughman made his first start, Tom Daly made his RDS Arena debut, and Charlie Rock and Max Deegan made their senior debuts.
Man of the Match
After a barn-storming performance, Jack Conan was your first ever Leinster Rugby FanScore Man of the Match with 48% of the vote – Luke McGrath and Joey Carbery joint-second with 17% each.
Conan made 73 metres off 12 carries, scored a try and made 14 tackles. Congratulations, Jack!
(Only 2% of the vote for Rory O’Loughlin though? Hmmm…)
Top player
Congratulations to Mixo10, our top player after the first round with an impressive 355 points.
If Mixo holds onto top spot for the month he’ll be nabbing two tickets for Leinster’s Champions Cup match against Montpellier in the RDS Arena, plus two spots on the guest list for the Blue Room (which includes a complimentary drink, free match programme, and a player appearance).

The next round
If your predictions for Leinster v Dragons were off the mark, not to worry, you have a chance to make amends this Friday when Leinster face Northampton Saints in the Champions Cup (KO 7.45pm, Franklin’s Gardens, live BT Sport).
And remember, you get points just for participating in each game, so even if you have no idea where to start with predicting a full-time score or picking a man of the match, make a selection and claim a handy 10 points. It could be the difference between a signed jersey at the end of the season and…no signed jersey at the end of the season.
