Winning away in Europe may be one of the tougher tasks a team faces in a season, but supporters showed almost total faith in Leo Cullen’s men on Friday night with 94% of you backing a Leinster win. And your choice was rewarded with precious FanScore points.
Leinster scored five of the six tries in the game, with Garry Ringrose getting the first inside the opening two minutes.
Leinster Rugby face Northampton Saints at Aviva Stadium this Saturday (KO 7.45pm). Tickets are available from €30 at ticketmaster.ie.

If you need some convincing, here are the prizes to be won:
Monthly winner: Two tickets to Leinster v Montpellier in the European Champions Cup at the RDS Arena, plus two free places in the Blue Room, Leinster Rugby’s hospitality facility (includes one complimentary drink, free match programme, plus a chance to meet and chat with players).
Correct full-time score: Two tickets to a match of your choice
Overall winner: Leinster Rugby jersey signed by the squad
Full-time
While 94% of you correctly predicted a Leinster win we have yet to have someone correctly predict a full-time score (though if someone did correctly predict a 37-10 win on Friday we’d be asking them for lotto numbers, never mind match predictions).
Hopefully someone will get it right for this weekend’s match…
Total tries
If you correctly guessed there would be six tries in Friday’s match, congratulations! Only 16% of players correctly predicted the total number of tries.
Time of first points
One player predicted the time of the first points. Which is pretty remarkable considering how early in the game Garry scored that try. That or they were too lazy to continue flicking through all the available options. Either way, well done! Some more precious FanScore points in the bag.
First try scorer
If the one player that predicted the time of the first points also guessed that Ringrose would be the one to get them, that’s one impressive double. Only 14% of players went for Ringrose as first try scorer, though we have a feeling that number may go up for this Saturday’s big match at the Aviva…
Man of the Match
The TV pundits went for Tadhg Furlong as their Man of the Match, and rightly so as the Wexford man had another outstanding game after a great month in green, but he was pipped to the FanScore Man of the Match prize by Sean O’Brien.
The Tullow Tank scored Leinster’s crucial second try and made 11 carries in the game (only Ringrose made more – 12).
Congratulations to @SeanOBrien1987 who you voted #LeinsterFanScore Man of the Match from last night’s win over Northampton! #NORvLEI pic.twitter.com/Ze6AgxKbs5

The next round
If you’re one of our top 10 players this month, or you’re within touching distance of that top spot, there are only three games left this month and one good round could be decisive.
If you’re a bit further down the ladder, not to worry, one good round of guesses could have right back up near the business end of the leaderboard. And remember, even if you aren’t sure who’s going to score the first try it’s always worth taking a guess and claiming those 10 handy participation points.
