Four Leinster Rugby players have been selected for the Guinness PRO14 Ultimate XV following a fan vote run across the league’s social media channels.
The shortlisted players were based on those who were chosen for the annual Dream Team each year since it began in the 2006/07 season.
Jamie Heaslip, Gordon D’Arcy, Brian O’Driscoll and Isa Nacewa were chosen by fans as the best in their respective position.
Heaslip, who was on the end-of-season Dream Team on no less than five occasions, is the sole forward in the province’s four representatives. The No 8 made 229 appearances for the province, scoring 190 points, over the course of 12 years.
In midfield, it was the all-Leinster pairing of Gordon D’Arcy and Brian O’Driscoll. Between them, they have a combined total of 443 appearances and 645 points in the blue jersey. Add their tally of 215 Ireland caps and it makes for a very reliable centre duo.
Sweeping up in behind wearing the No 15 shirt is the versatile Isa Nacewa who could have staked a claim for any jersey from 10-15. Nacewa first joined Leinster in 2008, and after a brief retirement from playing in 2013, rejoined the province two years later.
He scored over 700 points for the province and was a part of the 2017/18 double-winning side.
