The ‘Front Row Buddies’ initiative was launched at Leinster v Munster in the Aviva Stadium…
Cheeverstown’s ‘Front Row Buddies’ initiate was set up this season in partnership with Leinster Rugby with a view to enable rugby fans with special needs to meet up and make friends with supporters from other teams.
Longstanding and very proud Munster follower Mrs. Catheine Kelly, hailing from Co. Clare, was supported and hosted by Cheeverstown’s rugby fans at the Aviva Stadium last Saturday.
Jeanette Kelly had this to say about the initiative on behalf of her mother Catherine:
“I read about Front Row Buddies in the Evening Herald a few weeks ago, so I contacted James Jones from Cheeverstown. My mother is a huge Munster fan but at 84 getting her to and from the games is a huge challenge for us. She had resigned herself to never seeing her beloved Munster play live again. Our new friends from Cheeverstown arranged everything for us. They kindly collected and escorted us in their van, provided match tickets, showed us around the Stadium and they even presented my mother with a new Munster shirt to wear at the game. It was an amazing day out for my mother and a day which she will never forget. The generosity and friendship shown from Cheeverstown’s rugby fans was a shining example of the spirit of the game we all love. A huge thank you and well done to all involved. I definitely won the prize for best Mother’s Day gift! It is such an amazing service and will mean so much to the people who otherwise could not make it to the games, I really hope that the Front Row Buddies network grows each season.”
