Westmanstown played host to over 100 school children from Ladyswell National School, Mulhuddart and St Patrick’s National School, Diswellstown recently when 5th and 6th class pupils competed in a tag rugby blitz, despite dismal weather conditions….

Split into 8 teams on the day they challenged each other’s abilities; and displays of raw talent and newly learned skills were shown by both schools.

Having both recently completed the IRFU ‘Play Rugby’ programme with Leinster CRO Amanda Ní Ghabhann, they had ample opportunities to put their progress to the test, at the wonderful facilities provided by the Garda Rugby Club.

Although the day was cut a little short by heavy rainfall, it was a complete success thanks to the great efforts by all involved. We hope to see both schools again soon for more competition and practice.
