Only two months since Damien Maher contacted the Leinster Branch for assistance in launching an underage section, a Garda team took the field against Skerries in a curtain opener to a Leinster League match between the two Clubs.
As a bonus for the youngsters the Heineken Cup was also available for photographs. ‘We would like to thank Skerries for travelling as the match gives us a great opportunity to highlight locally that we are active and already growing. We anticipate fielding at Under-9 as early as next weekend’, said Maher who was the driving force behind the initiative.
Training takes place in Westmanstown every Sunday morning at 11am and Damien can be contacted at 086-2458824.
