The South East held their first girls Tag rugby schools blitz in Gorey which six schools involved and a total of 90 girls taking part…

The schools included Gorey Community School, Wexford Vocational School, Mean Scoil Enniscorthy, Enniscorthy Vocational, St Mary’s New Ross and New Ross Vocational school.

The aim of the blitz is to help promote the girls game with a view to getting them involved with their local rugby clubs. It was a great success with the girls really enjoying the games. The handling in general was of a very high standard and the games were all played in a good sporting manner.

Greta credit should be given to the CCRO’s for the work done which was evident in the standard of play and also to the schools and teachers for allowing Leinster to promote the game and for giving up their time.

Following its success there have already been discussions on how to develop the blitzes to involve more teams.
