While re-watching the try against Italy at Aviva Stadium, Heaslip spoke to World Rugby about the build up and how he found himself in such an advanced position of the field.
“People were like, ‘How did you know to run up-field?’. I’m just running up the field out of fear of the coach (Joe Schmidt) really.
“The lads do all the work: Zebo’s offload, Jared (Payne), Sexto running good lines, and then there’s the lazy ‘eight’ running a good cheat line. As a back row you’re always looking to get around the field and the quickest way is always the straightest line.”
