Jamie Heaslip was on hand, along with Jack McGrath and Hayden Triggs, to help launch the Bank of Ireland Leinster Rugby Camps last week at St Mary’s School in Ranelagh.
The Leinster no. 8 spoke to Leinster TV about how he wished there were Leinster summer camps when he was a youngster playing rugby growing up in Naas.
“There were never any camps [when I was younger] – I wish there was,” Heaslip told Leinster TV at the launch of the camps.
“I would’ve loved to have been able to go out there in the summer and have the week in camp, running around playing games, learning skills at the same time without the kids knowing, and being able to meet he players of that time. I think it’s great what they’re doing. I think it allows the game to grow and it just gives kids the opportunity to throw the ball around and enjoy playing rugby in a really nice environment.”
The Bank of Ireland Leinster Camps run from July to August in 27 venues across the province, with places available to book at the Early Bird rate of €;75 until 3rd June. Book now.
