With just over four months to go, the world’s elite female match officials have been announced for the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2014…

The IRB meet with the selectors in Berlin and made the appointments.

They have decided to take 14 Match Officials, of which eight are referees and six are assistant referees.

Ireland’s Helen O’Reilly has been selected as one of the final eight referees to officiate at the tournament.

The tournament, which takes place in Paris from August 1 to 17, will feature the world’s top 12 teams competing in three pools.

Champions New Zealand will be out to defend the title they won in England four years ago and whilst the players are working hard in the gym and on the training grounds, so too are the match officials.

Helen has also been appointed to referee two test matches this July, England V USA on the 2nd July and again on the 6th July.
