Leinster Rugby narrowed the gap at the top of Guinness PRO14 Conference B to three points with a bonus point win over Benetton Rugby on Saturday.

The win moved Leinster clear into second spot on 37 points with Scarlets on 40 and Ulster on 35.

The game in Italy saw James Lowe make his debut in blue and it didn’t take him long to make an impact. Lowe crossed for his first Leinster try with 16 minutes gone, and followed it up with his second in the 68th minute.

Lowe was named Guinness Man of the Match and was also your pick as Leinster FanScore Man of the Match.

Garry Ringrose and Josh van der Flier made their returns from injury in Italy on Saturday. Van der Flier suffered an ankle injury in the win over Glasgow Warriors in the Champions Cup, while Ringrose had been out of action since the summer tour with Ireland.

Ringrose crossed for a try, with Jordi Murphy adding five points before the half-time break and Luke McGrath getting the bonus point score.

European rugby returns this week with Leinster travelling to face English champions Exeter Chiefs at Sandy Park this Sunday.

Leinster currently top Pool 3 with two bonus point wins, with Exeter in second on eight points.

After the trip to Sandy Park Leinster welcome Exeter to Aviva Stadium to complete what is sure to be a crucial double-header of games in determining who will finish in top spot in the pool.
