It was also announced that ticket numbers for the game had gone over the 47,000 mark over the weekend and that the remaining tickets were on sale at leinsterrugby.ie.
Lancaster also confirmed that Ed Byrne, Barry Daly and Tom Daly had been added to the European squad. As per EPCR tournament rules, clubs which have qualified for the knockout stages of the Champions Cup and the Challenge Cup can nominate up to three players for registration to supplement their initial European squads.
In injury news there was no fresh concern from the Cardiff Blues game at the weekend with the returning trio of Rory O’Loughlin, Josh van der Flier and Isa Nacewa all coming through the game with no issues. All three players played the full 80 minutes.
In other positive news Irish international hooker Sean Cronin was involved in the match day squad against Cardiff as 24th man having trained last week having now fully recovered from a hamstring injury and should again be available for selection this week.
Lancaster confirmed that both Jack Conan and Zane Kirchner were ruled out of contention for the Cardiff game with minor muscle injuries – Conan a tight calf, Kirchner a tight hamstring – but that both were expected to train this week and would be assessed further as the week progresses.
There was further encouraging news for Dave Kearney who will again step up his recovery from a toe injury this week and is due to return to full rugby training today. He will be assessed as the week progresses.
There were no further updates on Rob Kearney (knee), Jamie Heaslip (back), Dominic Ryan (knee) and Jordi Murphy (ACL) who are all unavailable for selection this weekend.
