Speaking to the media in Leinster HQ on Monday afternoon, backs coach Girvan Dempsey provided an update on the health of the squad after last weekend’s win over Ulster.
There were some injury concerns from the win at the RDS Arena, though Dempsey confirmed that Leinster would be almost at full strength for the Guinness PRO12 Final this Saturday in Murrayfield.
“We’re not too bad come this point of the season,” Dempsey said.
“We’re actually pleased to have nearly a full strength squad to pick from with a few bumps and bruises after a pretty attritional game against Ulster.”
Isa Nacewa left the field in the second half and Dempsey confirmed that the captain had a an x-ray on his arm, but supporters will be delighted to hear the x-ray came back clear.
Regarding the other players that left the field with injuries, Dempsey said: “Ben Te’o went off with a slight tight calf, but he’s fine. Johnny Sexton just had a little bang on his glute, he seems to be fine.”
He also confirmed that Rob Kearney would be in contention for selection for the final.
“Rob Kearney was back in training today, he’s out running around, so he’s back in contention.”
