Leinster Rugby Scrum Coach John Fogarty has this afternoon given a squad update to the media at Leinster HQ in UCD ahead of the trip to Edinburgh on Friday in the Guinness PRO12 (Kick Off: 7.35pm – live on TG4).
Full back Rob Kearney who scored a try in the first half of the game against Glasgow Warriors on Saturday picked up a knee injury and was forced off after 59 minutes.
He had a scan this morning in the Sports Surgery Clinic in Santry and while the full extent of his injury is not yet known, Fogarty does not expect the injury to be a long term concern. He has though been ruled out of the game this Friday.
Fergus McFadden traveled to Glasgow with the team but was withdrawn from the game as a precautionary measure having injured his quad in the Captain’s Run the day before. He took a limited part in today’s training and will be assessed further later in the week.
In better news both Dave Kearney and Mick Kearney came through their first games back from injury and Isa Nacewa came through a full week of training last week and will be assessed further over the next few days.
The Leinster team to face Edinburgh will be announced at midday on Thursday on leinsterrugby.ie
