Darren Morrin is 23 years old and has been working as Malahide’s Club Community Rugby Officer for the past two years…
He is involved in several school including Oliver Plunkets, St. Andrews, Pope John Paul’s II, Malahide Community School and Portmarnock Community School.
Darren has been playing rugby in Malahide RFC for the past 10 years and has represented at Metro level on a number of occasions. He has also captained at club and school level. He is now playing at 1st grade in Division 2A as a tight head prop and is also coaching a recently developed Under-21 squad who are sitting in 2nd place in the Gale Cup.
Darren’s overall goal is to develop the standard of rugby in the local community and he is hoping someday to have the two secondary school taking part in a higher league. He is also pushing the standard of rugby in the primary school through blitzes etc. He is also helping the teachers with their rugby knowledge so the future stars are always learning.
