Ahead of the Guinness PRO12 semi-final against Ulster, Isa Nacewa spoke about the lessons learned from last month’s defeat in Kingspan Stadium and the preparation for the big match in the RDS Arena.
Ulster recorded four wins in their final four regular season games – two of them bonus point wins – to secure a place in the Guinness PRO12 Play-Offs.
That last win came away to Ospreys in the Liberty Stadium, with Ulster scoring six tries.
“They are on form – 18 tries in the last four games alone,” Nacewa said when asked about Ulster’s recent form in the Guinness PRO12.
“They’re playing a pretty exciting brand of rugby as well. After being on a hiding up in Kingspan a couple of weeks ago we don’t need too much motivation going into this one.”
The defeat last month in Belfast was a tough one to take, but Nacewa says the team learned plenty of lessons as well to take into the semi-final.
“As a whole back line we took a lot of learnings out of that game. We just need to be better. We had to look back on that game and prepare this week. Being in play-off footy there is no second chances. It’s been a good week.
“We’ve looked at each day of training and preparing for this game. We’re just lucky to be back and playing another 80 minutes of footy when other teams are on holidays. Just to be here and soak up the moment is exciting enough.”
Leinster’s Guinness PRO12 semi-final against Ulster is SOLD OUT! The match will be broadcast live on Sky Sports, TG4 and BBC Northern Ireland (KO 7.45pm).
