Leo Cullen has spoken of the “huge challenge” Leinster face in Belfast next weekend against Ulster, as the race for places in the Guinness PRO12 play-offs nears its conclusion.
Leinster travel to face Ulster in Kingspan Stadium on Saturday, 30th April (KO 3pm) knowing that a win will guarantee a place in the Guinness PRO12 play-offs, and go a long way towards securing a home semi-final at the RDS.
However, Ulster will have plenty to play for as they look to cement their place in the Guinness PRO12 top four.
Ulster won the equivalent fixture last season 26-10, keeping Leinster scoreless in the second half.
Leinster came out on top at the RDS when the sides met earlier this season, and there was a victory for Leo Cullen’s men in a pre-season friendly at Kingspan Stadium back in August.
“It’s a huge challenge going up to Kingspan Stadium,” Cullen said, speaking after Leinster’s win over Edinburgh last weekend.
“Ulster will have a lot to play for. It’s one that will really focus the mind. We’ll dust ourselves off and come back and put in another big performance because that’s what’s really important.
“All the players know what’s at stake. Everyone wants to play in these big games, so it’s important whoever lines up against Ulster gives a good account of themselves because it’s going to be competitive.”
